Food is an integral part of our identities: we understand who we are through what, and how, we eat. For migrants in the midst of cross-cultural movements, a change in culture means a change in cuisine -- and perhaps even a change in identity. So, how do migrants living in a host community understand their identities amidst a new culinary landscape? "Distant Diets" is a collection of portraits that features three culturally-distant sojourners living in Manchester, UK. These images are intended to show what these sojourners eat throughout the day, but we can also begin to understand the relationships that they have with food and the ways in which they embody culture through the foods and flavors that they ingest.
